Wicker Bill Paint Chipping
I just got a call back the other day from Don Jacobs Mitsubishi here in milwaukee regarding the paint chipping off of the wicker bill. Apparently it took him a while to figure out where the wicker bill came from cause he didn't believe that it was a dealer option. He did some "research" and found it was from the zero lift kit (which i told him) and that it only comes in Gray and white... not BLACK. So "apparently" someone painted it black, which would then NOT be covered under warrenty. I bought the car with 24 miles on it..... So i have to call the dealership i got it from and figure out what's going on.
But he also said it has happened to a few others with the BLACK wicker bill. Anyone here have this problem?

The wickerbill that was attached to my Evo when I bought it new seems to be made of a hard pliable plastic that is black. It is not painted. Also, I have never heard of a white one being available. Logically speaking, it does not make sense to paint this piece since it has to have some flexibility to be installed onto the rear wing.

Rexpeed makes them in a bunch of colors...maybe one of those?

it is also weird that they say it DOESN'T come in black, even though there are many people that have them in BLACK.
Thanks for the link Chuck. Although I'm not going to spend $50 on something that mitsubishi should be covering.
So no one else has had this problem?

I had one when i bought the car...but the wing was damaged during shipping. Warrantied and voila...they forgot to order the new wing with wickerbill. Rip off the old one and hand it to me.
Never was able to clean it well enough to stick back on and they chipped it showing white underneath.

Dammit man! After a month and a half of getting the run around, Mitsubishi still won't cover it. I went to the Milwaukee Mitsubishi and they said since it was added afterwards (even though the dealership added it as part of the zero lift package) and it was painted (cause apparently they don't come in black) they won't cover it. Then I went to the dealership in Madison where I bought it and they said they got the car from the Racine stealership and it was already on there so they couldn't do anything. Then I called the Racine Store and they said it can not be covered under warranty.
What the hell! Looks like I just have to drop $50 on a rex speed one. Thanks for your support Mitsubishi!
