question about 6spd

I know no one really likes the 6spd trans much on here, but I was just wondering if that extra has huge impact on saving gas. I do a bit of highway driving to work everyday, and cruzin at 3000rpms for about 10-15 minutes really kills me in gas.

I mean i have the money, and certainly don't mind paying for it because I love my Evo too much to get something else, but I was just wondering if that extra gear really saves in the long run.

I think you can save up a little in a 6 speed. About 60 to 70 mph on a hwy my rpm is about 2500 to 2800 and trying not to pass 3000 rpm so I won't trigger the boost and eat up all my gas. Doing that Im averaging about 185 to 195 mile in my full tank of gas . But Dude we have a evo so sometimes I can't help it not to speed and eat up my gas.
