AMS STEALS MPH RECORD Back from Buschur
Yah I was with AMS on the track for the run and had ny girlfriend video it so like I said ams is about 3.5 hours from me so they should have the video soon I would post mine but didnt zoom in enough to see the official time so I will wait for ivan and eric cheers
Thanks everyone. Just got back home from the track. The AMS Evo ran flawlessly all day today with the exception of a dead ignition box after the first run and a broken transfer case on the third run.
A huge thanks to Dan B for lending us his ignition box so we could continue running.
We were very disappointed in missing the call to staging for the quick 16. If they would have given us THREE more min, we would have made it to the line. I know they were trying to keep the action going and get all the racing in but 30 min from third round qualifying and eliminations was rough.
With a stock transfer case installed (replacing the broken one), we decided to take it easy on the launch and shoot for MPH (seeing as this seems to be the latest buzz) and ran several 169+ mph passes but were being too cautious with the launch to eclipse the 170 mph mark. It came down to the last pass. The track announced it was closed and the staff started walking away and the ambulance started to drive away when Eric pulled around the corner into the staging lanes. We pleaded with them for just one more run and they were kind enough to give it to us.
Eric took full advantage of this and was going to make it or break it. All four tires were spinning on the launch as it rocketed through 1st gear. Eric hit 2nd perfectly and I knew it was going to be a fast pass. Hitting 3rd gear, the car really started moving. 4th and the car was just a blurry dot on the horizon. 8.7 @ 171.12 MPH and everybody in the stands and around the start line erupted with cheers. It was an awesome day.
Thanks to all our supporters. We appreciate all the cheers. It keeps things fun and exciting. We happy to have the MPH record back next to our ET record
Thanks to Buschur for putting on a great event.

Congrats guys, 171 is a huge accomplishment, especially with it being so cold out, track was still a bit slippery even with the fresh VHT. After all you have done for me in the past, I'm glad I could help you guys in some way. It was good to see you guys at the track again, let me know if you come to SEMA, I will be there.
I was really hoping to actually run my car at the event, lots of countless hours getting her together and of all things a brand new Weldon pump fails on me. It just wasn't meant to be this time around. We have a more reliable solution in the works, so will be up and running this coming week.
