hahha well to be honest there is one in the making in NC..... me and 3 friends that are technicians are trying to get a shop started.. There is ALOT of support around here as far as imports and domestics go. We will have a full-showroom as well as two tuners one of which is capable of tuning ems and 4 technicians that are capable of doing any job with more than 50years combined experience. We are looking into getting either a dyno dynamics or a dynojet dyno also. Should be up and running sometime next year if everything goes to plan... but when it comes to business nothing ever does.

"Tuning". Such a misunderstood word in the import community.

I bet that place gets slammed in the months before HIN comes to town!

Impressive shop thats for sure. If something like that comes to the east coast, you best know your sh*t when it comes to making the cars perform as well or better than they look to get respect out here.

But have accessibility for NY,CT,Philly, NJ.

Also be able to drop ship anything from CT all the way down to FL if necessary.

I know the East Coast lacks something of this nature. And I dont know about you but have you ever broken something as simple as a stud or lug nut while running at e town the nearest location for any type of replacement is almost 45 minutes- 1 hour away (pepboys in howell).

I want to see how much interest there is, if a shop were to open up, that was competitively priced would the tuners help support their own by going to a shop like this on the east coast.

Thanks for your opinions!
Central NJ would be a good idea. It really is "central" for the this area. a real crossroads in many respects. Incomes are pretty high, too. I think you would get plenty of support. You may want to ask this in the regional section and also check out some of the other websites that are regional to this area. (NE-Evos, Evo-NY etc.)

100% correct on this statement. I am more of a performance guy, rather than looking cool by obtaining some rare overpriced parts... but everyone is different. If you guys move into this area, I would still support you so long as the parts are competitively priced.

word would travel quick if you hosted a open house barbecue type thing

Something like this def. has potential in the TriState and FL, not sure about in between.

Look at CBRD, they're shop is a high quality, immaculate (from the pics and reviews I've seen) and it looks like they are always busy.

Isn't this Ben Abutin's shop?

If so we'd love him to come to the East Coast, VA/MD/DC Area is great for starting shops (ask any of em that have been open forever), especially Northern VA

"Posers" on the east coast? LOL

Anywhere near where the NJ turnpike and the parkway intersect is a great cross-roads area. Fact is though, north Jersey (Westwood area) would be closer to the big dollars (northern NJ, NY, CT) or near DC, Northern VA. Tons of $ near DC, and lots of shops.

Personally, I'd rather see more Evo roadrace / engineering and interest in driving than BIG body kits, BIG vinyl, and BIG egos for BIG wallets. The DTM scene has enough of those tools around here for me...

I agree! Plus having the availabilty of a shop that has the knowledge and experience of dealing with "top dollar" products will help. I like asking questions in person.

There is definatley a market on this side, but location is key. You seem to have the right idea on location. Just stay competetive on pricing!

Good luck!

I am familiar with high end. I can get some photos of the shop in national city. Very nice cars you build. But do any of the see any action off of the show room floor? Road Racing? Or just purely Show cars.

Yeah +1 on CBRD's Philly Suburbs is the way to go we have 2 1/4 mile tracks less than an hour away plus the scene in West Chester is out of control. Pa is a central location to NY,CT, VA,MD,DE,NJ...
