Is it possible to buy...

Is it possible to buy and import an Evo Wagon? If so, what roadblocks or limitations would I have in getting it registered, tag and insurance?

I know there are several Skyline importers in the US...and I figure if Skylines can be imported...why not an Evo Wagon?

Any insight and help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Jay

yea you can import it.. getting it registered you would have to know some people in the dmv.. or in the importing cars bussiness... then you have to worry about smog stuff.. they dont have the same equipment for smag as the US cars do... and then finally.. insurance.. i woudnt know how it would work.. i guess it would have to be under a specialty cor or sumthing...

Basically, I love the idea of having the "only" Evo wagon in the states!

Check the thread on the EVO III / Evo VI on this board.

The short answer is "yes it can be titled, registered and insured, but if the DOT finds out, your car will be taken away and crushed"

The long answer is far too boring and technical to post here.

Not an Evo but I would love a Nissan Stagea GT-R. It's a wagon with the Skyline drivetrain. Talk about a sleeper!

Speaking of wagons the new STI is UGLY, yuck! I see the same one here about 2-3 times a week, it really looks like the old Scion to me, puke puke puke! I can see why but why?!

this would be more do-able then the evo wagon due to it being the same chassis as the skyline. and way more worth it and probably cost you less all the way around...
