Can someone explain this to me?

When i get back from iraq im gonna go with a green turbo and all the bolt ons and shoot for 390 whp on a dyno jet. After that i will probably want to go with meth or race gas. My question is. Can someone explain the difference between ethanol, methanol, alcohol, and e-85. E-85 is the new alternative fuel that u can pump at some stations i think. Im just not sure what all of these are...Can someone help me with deciphering these and telling me what there all for. I tried searching and couldnt really come up with a awnser.

They're just different 'fuels' with different chemical compounds. Sort of like vodka, whiskey, rum, etc.

E-85 is 85% ethanol with 15% gas. 100% ethanol doesn't start well in the cold so they mix in some gasoline to improve cold starts. They all have different energy densities, etc. Like the JD, Jim Beam, Crown, 151 all have different proofs.

If this is going to be a DD, I'd just stick to gasoline with water or meth injection because it can be hard to come by the other stuff.

If it was up to me I have a tune for C16 race gas and another map for pump 93. The better the fuel, the less detonation. The less detonation you have the more extreme you can go with your tune. Here is a link to VP race fuels site:

http://www.vpracingfuels.com/vp_01_fuels.html#leaded

It will go into more detail about each type of fuel

E85 is the alternative fuel that is roughly 105 octane. Only about 10% of all fuel stations carry e85 with more so within the corn belt.
