btw the lack of aftermarket support for the VR4 is a myth

http://ipsmotorsports.net/

dynamicracing.com

3sxperformance.com

to name a few.

You can get anything you want pre fabbed from twin td05 kits to bolt on stuff to single kits.

Nothing is going to match the evos aftermarket support, but anything you want for the VR4 is there.

This is a tough one. VR4s are hard to find. Especially ones with lower miles. I say keep it, save up and buy a used ix in a few years.

if you sell it for the Evo, i bet the first time you see a fresh VR4 cruising along, you will wish you kept it. they are ULTRA rare!!

maybe the value will increase in a few years who knows. if you have a place to store it, why not...

i'm holding onto my 1st gen as long as i can!

Isn't the vr4 really heavy? Weight to power ratio isn't very good. Back in my honda days we would beat on vr4's all day with a built ls vtec.

Shaving weight off of the vr4 is also INCREDIBLY easy. Much more so then almost any other car besides DSM's in my experience.

The seats are 80lbs a piece, the hood is 70lbs, stock exhaust is upwards of 80lbs, maybe more, comes with 18" HEAVY chrome rims. 1st gens come with this rock solid steel rear crash beam which is about 40-45lbs (later replaced with a 20ish lb aluminum one)

I've gotten my VR4 down towards 3200-3300 w/o driver without even really going TOO crazy.

Ignore my wheels, those are temporary while I work out the kinks on the car.

Keep the VR-4. Being a 99 and such low miles it is truly a gem. VR-4's are NOT slow. I have gotten the opportunity to ride in one before. It isn't nearly as fast as evo but as said before it IS mitsubishi's "classic" supercar

I would keep the VR4 and buy an EVO later just like the others have said. I had a 95 VR4 and sold it and wish I wouldn't have.

Sell the vr4 and buy two neons. park one and crash the 2nd head on with the parked one. cuz neons suck and nobody likes them. Yea. I'm a 3000gt fan myself. I was looking at picking up a GTO (don't flame for this next comment) GTO is just a 3000gt that is right hand drive. they're both sick cars, given i'm in canada im partial to the 3000gt hehe

The '99 VR-4s are pretty damn sexy when compared with every other year of 3KGT. If I was forced to choose, the EVO would be it hands down based on my personal driving experiences.
