Quick Mitsu warranty
Quick Mitsu warranty
I have heard countless horror stories of after market parts and Evo owners voiding warranties. I am looking for some opinions/experiences with respect to warranties.
I have a slightly modified Evo nothing serious, car needs new wheel bearings, so they ordered some for me. Part of the power train warranty (according to Mitsu). If they honor that, and I do not change anything to the car, theoretically, they would have to honor any other power train issues??

If they missed the mods u have on now (I don't know how they could) then you got lucky. They will look for any reason to not honor a warranty on an evo. But I guess your question is if u do anything additional to what you have already done will they void it? Again, they must of overlooked mods
just basic bolt-ons, but they ordered the parts, so they are honoring it! The question lies later down the road, i.e. my transfer case goes, will they be obligated, being that I haven't further modded my car, to honor the warranty since I have documentation to where they have honored it once already? Does that make sense?
Mitsu replaced synchros twice on my Evo when I had cams. They never knew they were there. But then my TC was going out, and the service manager mentioned my cams. I didn't bother, b/c I knew the district rep would have looked at it and denied the claim. The service manager was cool with it, but he said the district rep would not be.
hmmmm.......hit or miss it seems, who is it really up to? The mechanic (who orders the parts), or the service manager? If they order the part you are good to go, or can they still make you pay?

That was referring to another answer. The parts were installed before I bought the car, so for all they know they were installed by a certified Mitsu dealership....I meant they already ordered the wheel bearings that the car needs. I am saying that once installed and I get the car back, don't modify it at all, will they be obligated the honor any other power train issues.
