I had that problem, it was fixed undeer warranty... Although my car was still under factory warranty at that time.
Your not the only one.

just called and here is what i have

4 part numbers

7801A360 - blend door kit = $64.00

7801A110 - blend link and lever kit - $12.97

MN185231 - blower motor filter - $45.47

MF453032 - bolts needed for the kit - 0.35 each

the blend door kit is out of stock everywhere so he said it might be backordered.

this is such BS that its not a Recall!!!!!!

Damn! The last two 03 evos I've owned have the exact same problem! I have to put a glove on, then push or pull the white plastic gear for climate control...makes me wonder if my car is eally an 03 or an 83.

I was all through this last spring.

If you want the heat control knob to be silky smooth like on the new Evos then you need all the parts listed above. To install the blend door the heater box has to come out. Before the heater box can come out the dash must be removed. Removing the dash is a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. If you want the knob to stay silky smooth you need to install the cabin filter.

If you will settle for the knob working well enough that is won't break and much better than it does now then all you need are the blend link and lever kit. And, this can be installed without removing the dash. It is a DIY project.

just ordered the blend link and lever kit from mitsubishiparts.net. http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/cart/...=24&submit.y=8 hope this fixes my problem
