Launching:: Lil Slippage or Just Drop IT
Im just wondering what people tend to do more and why. If you launch slipping th clutch until it grabs and the turbo spools then you let it go. Or do you keep it at a steady RPM and just drop the clutch and who cares if your burning it. I myself do a mixture of both i guess. I normally keep the RPM's above 5k but i bounce it up and down and then when the light drops depending on the situation i guess ill either just drop it and feel that biatch rocket off or ill slip it a little till i feel the turbo spooling pulling at the car and then i just let it go from there. Just wondering what people arent there tend to do differently anything from whats better or worse for the car or the best way but bad for the car.
My last clutch lasted 10k miles. Not bad, but could be better, I had probably a good 20+launches on it, I dont know if that is a good number or not. Anyways I would hold the clutch just to near the friction point (where the car would start to lean forward and creep) gas pedal mashed down bounced off 5.5k limiter. Then when light hits green, you let your clutch foot go a little and you feel the car start going out, you feel it grabbed the road, then release clutch.
If you apply a lot of gas and you slip the clutch it will burn. And you will smell it. but it works :X If you release your clutch and then you mash the gas, its a little slower launch, but your clutch will thank you.
I'm currently on a stock clutch, So I just rev it about to about 3.5-4k and slip the clutch, its slower in the begging, but im boosting more than stock so I catch up isntantly
