Took off the Kartboys, put stock bushings back on

I was having a lot of lockout when I would shift at a high rpm so I decided to see if it was the Kartboy shift linkage bushings. The car shifts A LOT better after putting the stock bushings back on. I didn't think it would make a lot of difference but I was wrong.

I thought about going with Buschur's bushings, but I am a little apprehensive about going with metal bushings since they have a tendency of locking up in cold temperatures.

If there lubed up enough, you wont have that problem.

Therein lies the rub; you have to constantly lube it.

I had the kartboy shifter bushings for over 20K miles and no problems. Just clean them once in awhile and put enough grease on it.

I was not aware that you had to grease the polyurethane bushings. That was one of the reasons why I bought them. It makes sense though because they were a pain in the *** to remove because they were stuck in there.

I massively lubed my buschurs with Mobile 1 synthetic grease. I have no problem with any rpm lockout.

my only lockout is occasionally in forth gear at high rpm but that is 100% because of my ACT clutch...because it happened with the stock bushing too

my car is "more" difficult to get into reverse but it's nothing crazy

question: how often should they be re-greased?

yeah... the plastic itself is fine but the metal it attaches to gets dirty and crap so the grease helps it from getting stuck. White lithium grease and/or anti-seize works very well, also.

I have buschur's buschings, never had to lube them and never had them be sticky in the cold. Gets down to -40 here in MN and they still do their job just fine.
