Downpipe And Cel Light

I just purchased a hks catback on my evo8, and I am starting to look for a DP.
I heard there are some dps that might be too close to the TC. Can anyone advice which DP to get?
Trying to keep my oem cat converter on my evo8; will the change of the catback and dp ONLY cause a cell light to come on?
Any information will be helpful and thanks in advance.

no...speaking strictly exhaust, it would only come on if you're running a test pipe. No here's where you go to the how-tos and search into fouler mod!

Do you have a 03-04 or 05?

The majority of downpipes on the market will fit the front open diff models effortlessly. With the lsd, you might want to stick with a reputable brand and one made specifically for an ACD model.

Cheap downpipes found on ebay present good quality for a bargain, but take extra work to make fit.

I have Buschur's exhaust. It fits perfectly on my 8, but with the larger 3" section, you have to space your cross-members down about 3/8". Those are just simple metal spacers you could pick up at a hardware store.

I'm guessing you are pulling P0136 and or P0141?

Just put a Megan DP on my IX on Sunday and the fitment is perfect. Only problem is that it occasionally rattles against the front tension bar, but I'm just going to wrap the bar in heat wrap to take care of that problem. I don't see how that could be avoided given the bar's location - this is the exact same issue 56Hotrod is talking about. Quality is great, sound is awesome, and it's a proven full 3". The price is very hard to beat too

i would just like to add that my megan downpipe version 2 rattles when the car just starts up and driving in first gear (slow parking lot). No, it is not the lower tie bars because i already added spacers and i can visually see it clear it. Everything is tighten down, but i still hear rattling. Ample spacing for acd. Tighten some more? Definitely coming from the downpipe.

I just installed the megan and the hks catback on today. the HKS looks awesome.
just have questions about the megan dp; i have a 03 evo, the dp still very close to the oil pan; like a 1 or 2mm away. is that dangerous? yes, i still can hear the rattles sounds when my car is idle 2.

i have the megan catback and down pipe. sounds great. i got it from ETS. good service. the only issue i had with the DP was the fitting of the spring bolts. i had to use bolts that i had left over from the ones included. But overall i am happy with it. can't wait to tune it now. Oh and no CEL.

You didn't reuse the spring bolts did you? If so swap them out. Other than that get underneath it and lightly hit the DP with a mallet, you will be able to see where it is hitting or rattling.
