I was just wondering if there would be any advantages or disadvantages with running 100 octane? Would i need a retune? Only reason im asking is cuz i noticed a local gas station has it. BTW my mods are TBE, Intake, cams, fuel pump and tune. Thanks in advance.

 

You would need a retune, and increased boost/timing to take advantage of it. Then you'd have to run it all of the time unfortunately, so going out of town with your evo would be a no no from then on.

 

unless your tuned for it your wasting money. higher octane does not give you more power, it only prevents detonation... which can occur from higher boost, aggresive timing, and so on.

 

u dont have to retune you will be runnin rich but ^ hes right to take advantage of it get tuned and also run it all the time

??? I thought maps like Jesters had a high and low octane map?!! I just figured you would have less chance of knock with no benefits of increased timing if there was no map, not run rich
