Carbon fiber piping is actually pretty easy to make. You take a two piece alluminum female mold, then place a pair of carbon fiber sleeves around an inflateable mandrel (surgical tubing). place the pair inside the female mold, inflate the surgical tubing and let cure. deflate the tubing, split the alluminum mold, and pull your part.

I used to make carbon fiber waterski handles the same way. $5 in materials, and a $100 final product to sell.

They look pretty sick wonder how well they hold up to the boost abuse.

Carbon fiber would hold boost no problem. In tube form, the pressure is tensile loaded. In tensile strength, carbon fiber is stronger than steel.

Agreed, CF only "shatters" when given sudden impact. It would hold boost FINE.

Isn't CF porous? By that I mean it would have to have several layers of resin to make sure its air tight?

how well you think them end tanks can take a rock hitting them at 55-65 mph though? just one little crack will ruin it

It looks like dry carbon too, Talk about light piping hehe. About the rock hitting the endtanks, I bet it could crack it given a large enough rock but you could always put invisiguard on it
