EVO 8 MR RS..... rare breed?

I tried to find the information on it but seems like its so little. Hence which brings up my question to ask if it does exist or not in JDM market.

and how would any evo IX compare to this breed if it exist?

Is it me, or does this thread not have a question that actually makes sense?

It's a rare breed in US, because evo doesn't come in this trim in US.

Only JDM, EUDM specs come with the MR RS trim.

VIII GSR
VIII RS
VIII MR GSR
VIII MR RS
IX GSR
IX RS
IX MR GSR
IX MR RS

MR is basically a '0.5' and production runs are much shorter than regular ones. So yes they are rare. Compared to JDM IX RS, VIII MR RS will be little bit heavier, has Ti-Al instead of Ti-Mg turbine wheel, and the usual turbo and engine differences between VIII and IX. So IX RS is superior to VIII MR RS other than the unreliable magnesium intake side turbine wheel.

The Evo 8 MR RS came in 2 forms.. the 6 speeds and the 5 speeds..
the 5 speed model is similar to the Evo 7 Rs and the 6 speed Model have the similarity to the Evo 8 MR GSR.

The metal BOV, I don't think is an MR specific part on 05's. My MR came with a plastic one.
Is it just a US thing?

Its not the rare breed part or actually question of it existing. Its the fact that your question really doesnt make sense.
Youre wanting to compare it to a Evo IX? Why? Just cause it may be a MR with a 5speed, or whatever else the package may have, why would that change anything performance wise of a 8 compared to a 9?

Sounds interesting.I didn't know that there were so many different versions in so many countries. It just shows you how we get the short end of the stick in the US.
