Lightbulb Where are the limits..

Hi! I know that this have been discussed over and over again.. But now when im standing here with my 4g63 and a broken cylinder.. (The pistonrings are crap due to overload of boost)
Im wondering about all this with the con rods and pistons.

Many people say that this is the weakpart in these engines, but how many have actually blown their engine only because of to much power??

Im not writing this to **** every aftermarket seller of but im just researching for my engine and im thinking about going with wössner pistons and eagle rods. What do you think about this setup?? The wössner pistons are by the way custom.. pretty expensive, but probably good =)

I know that there are some people who drives around with 500 hk an stock bottom!! is this really the truth??
If you have had any experience in blowing you stock bottom only because of weakness (Not because of a bad map or knocking or peaking or anything) Well.. Please write to me and even better show me pictures //Jocke

how much power are you making, and what are the mods on the car. I gather you have custom pistons from what you wrote, but that's a bit unclear in itself. Are you sure it wasn't the tune (detonation) that caused the issue?

hi, changed some missjudging info on my engine, my engine is totally stock inside,, im gona fill you in with some details.. bought the car from california just 3 months ago, and i have had a hell with the registration and not only to think about all transport damages, =P but now when all this is behind me i discovered that my beautiful evo didnt pull any harder than my old volvo "turbo brick" 240.. im from sweden btw =)

so i made a comp test and the rest you know.. so it had allready been burned before i bought it sadly.. the setup "was" this: 3 inch downpipe HKS with stock catalyst and stock cat-back, open airfilter, an ugly map (same setup on low and high octane) and around 21-22 psi of boost.. naturally i thought that something wasnt right..

i had plans of to begin with BPU around 380hk.. or so much i can take out from a stock turbo without blowing anything up.. this i mostly just so that i can drive it and have a feeling for the evo.. and then im looking for bigger turbo, new cams etc.. so probably i need to reinforce my stock bottom or what do you think?? //Jocke
