u might as well buy a IX. since october all cars aged another YEAR & any '06 cars on the lot are now considered USED even if they have 0 miles. search in states where imports don't do well (deep south, lower midwest, bible belt) & u should be able to find a new IX for around $25K. also check out South Coast Mitsu & see what kinda deals they got....

Some people had mentioned that the number on this car should be around $21k. Is that number something that very many people on here have achieved on the purchase of a similar car?
If a dealership is really trying to get rid of a car thats been on their lot for a while they will usually cut you some deals usually harder to get on newer cars.
At least they did with my Evo. My Evo was the last IX they had and weren't going to get any after that one sold. They had it marked up to $45k, I got it for $33.5k. This was over 6 months ago. Needless to say they were desperate it seemed.

Well the fact that the longer it sits on their lot the more money they lose should tell you something.

Thank you. I appreciate the information. I may just go after a new one if I cannot get this '05 for what I want to pay for it. A few thousand more for a 0 mile car is no bad.
sidenote-dealers only pay $14k for evos so i assure you any deal u do they will not lose money...

Mivec, bigger compressor housing, lower insurance than the VIII. i bought my '03 for $28,200 out the door when they were marked up & the msrp b4 markup was $28,700. salesman got fired, but keep in mind a car dealer is like a conveyor belt. they do not make money when cars sit. the older a car is, the harder is to get full price for it. the only exception is with luxury or exotics. i will not pay anymore than $25k bcuz like i said earlier, it's now 2yrs old & will be treated as a used car.

Okay...so I walked away from the car. I figured the total I wanted to be at with all taxes and such paid was $23k for this car, which would put the selling price right around $21,500 and some change. Evidently that was not enough to buy the car. Does it sound like I did the right thing for 17k mile car? I feel that I did.
well, i bought mine brand new, 05 evolution with the sound leather sunroof package, the package if i remember was 2000 dollars extra, total i paid 35,500 for it so i personally think that's a good deal with low miles and some basic mods. i would get it
