Installing a VG without the Clip

I bought a VG a while ago, I just finished getting it painted to match my tb evo9. I went to the "How to" section on the forum to help me install it, I found out that I am missing the clip that I never got. My question is do I need the clip? Whats the clip for? Thanks

I know I've been away for awhile, but I don't ever remember any clips. They are held in place by double sided tape(4 pieces). The antenna also is screwed on over it, holding it in place. And the rear window trim goes over top as well holding it in place. So, no clips that I have ever seen. Hope this helps

no clips. double-sided tape to fasten it down. weather stripping helps abit on the side and antenna helps too.

The clip for the antenna just holds it down more securely. It uses the antenna to screw down over it and make sure the VG is more snug. I ran my original VG without a clip for a year because I didn't know what it was for or how to put in on. When I replaced it with another VG I used the clip the 2nd time around. It's not something that is needed....

I have the clip on mine, like DSMEVOLUTION said I think its just to hold it down more securely. Makes it sit a little more flush. You'll be fine w/out it.
