Help Me Pick My Next Turbo!

Hey guys well im once agian going to change my setup and wanted to get people's opinions on what they think the best setup would be. Im looking for 700 - 800whp (or more of course but no big deal).

The car get taken on the streets maybe 1 or 2 times a month on the weekends but besides that is going to see most it's time on the strip. The turbo's i have been looking into are the

1) Garrett GT4088R
2) Garrett GT4094R
3) Garrett GT4294R
4) Garrett GT4202R

Or possibly some turbo in the same realm made by Forced Performance or Precision of course. I know that the GT40 series turbos will have a hard time making 800whp and really have been dead set on the 42R but figured i would talk to people that have tried it and what there thoughts were. So with that let me know what you think would be the best turbo to make the power i want to make.

Next season i will be running a 2.1 destroked 4G64 and everything is fully built so no real worries with the block, head, fuel system ect.

Thanks
Chris

I'm no turbo guru but just wondering if you've done any reading on a twinscroll setup?

4202 FTW.. its whats on my car now after running a 67p trim and 72mm borg warner.. if your going for 7-800+ no sense in running a 4094 the lag is pretty much the same..

Thanks for the reply. Are you on a 2.1? What are you seeing full boost at? What are you reving it too? Do you have a graph?

Post Script: I am currently making a pallet for that engine. Going to make a small pallet and then tie it down and package it in a cardboard box. Will let you know how much it will be.

Thanks
Chris

Ya i have a custom divided T4 top mount exhaust manifold. Long straight runners right before it hits the collector. Not sure if it's the best design but basically is what you see in all the professionals cars.

Can you let me know what you really start to feel the power come on at? And when you shift does it pretty much stay in the powerband?

Thanks

Great thank you! Please post what happens.

That was another question i should have asked. What exhaust housing size do people think i should run? I was thinking

1) 1.15
2) 1.01

I dont really want to go much bigger then 1.15 i dont think i need that much top end.

I bet that car is a beast!

It's a 1.28 housing. The 1.01 housings work well for a weekend warrior that sees street duty, but they will choke power off up top once you start throwing boost at it. The 1.28 housings are perfect for a straight up drag car and the 1.15 housings fill the void in between the two quite nicely.

What defines a track day? The only turbo that fits my style in the T3 platform is the 35r, to each there own though.
