I'd say mid 12's if you know how to drive. What kinda PSI are you running? Is your SAFC dyno tuned?

From: its not where you at, its where you from!
Where did you pick up this "stage I" kit, and what did it run you? Or did you just purchase all of the parts a la carte so to speak?

i keep hearing this bs over and over again, how you drive will make .10 sec difference in an evo. If it was a 800hp supra, how you drive would make a difference. on an evo you need to know how to change gears and operate the clutch.
Rev it to 5500rpm and off you go.

Mid 12's, hmm it depends on humidity and temp. My best was 13.87 on a humid day

ground wire kit will make as much difference as f&f stickers on a civic (extra 50hp), get real
with those mods anything below 13 would be nice, nowhere close to mid 12's

Seems like most people running those mods are in the 12.8 or so range, but a lot depends on driver, conditions, and how strong your car was to begin with.

And if you think someone with little to no skill can hop into one of these cars and run consistently close to an experienced driver, you really need to get out of your happy place more often. I have seen same car, same day, different drivers run over a half second different or more.

I consider myself fairly sarcastic, but some of you guys are pushing the cutting edge...

SAFC is a very elementry way of controlling your ecu! It is a hack programer that tricks your ecu into running leaner or richer (which ever you choose). There are no safety parameters like a knock warning, data logger, timing pull if you get into dangerous conditions, etc. there are too many variables in tuning! Especially in a car that is boosted! You need to be able to adjust your timing, to match your air/fuel mixture as well as your boost. There are too many variables to do manual adjusting of your cam sprockets, and you boost controler!

Guys you just spent over 30,000 on your car! This isnt a honda civic!!! Dont use a honda civic style ECU tuner! I know they are much more in expensive than a stand alone, but really what is another 500 to 700 dollars to get the absolute best AND safest performance for your car?

Turbo XS is releasing a UTEC (the number one engine mgmt system that revolutionized tuning the WRX) for the EVO. check out all the features of this engine mgmt system! It is super impressive! I had one of these in my WRX and it was un believeable!

Check out www.turboxs.com

Tom

UTEC standard features include:

Plug-&-Play installation with OEM connectors for 2003 EVO
No cutting, splicing or additional sensors required
20 minute, do-it-yourself installation
End-user programmable via PC or PDA with HyperTerminal and serial cable
Fine tune the maps for your exact setup
Pre-programmed base maps get you started quickly and safely
Base maps for our Staged upgrade packages, dyno proven and road tested from the leader in WRX tuning
Don’t waste hours tuning just to get your car to idle and cruise decently
Maps can be e-mailed or simply downloaded then uploaded
Four (5) maps plus “stock mode” selectable with a flick of the switch
Create custom maps for street gas, race gas, nitrous, or whatever
No need to lug around a laptop just to switch between your programs
Optional remote dash mounted switch available View switch here
Fuel, ignition timing, and boost are programmable in 250rpm increments up to 9000rpm over 10 load sites
Complete ignition timing control
No need to worry about the factory ECU pulling timing anymore
Be as aggressive or conservative as you want or just let the factory ECU determine timing at any point in the map
Fuel control
Controlled via MAF sensor signal offset
Tune stock and larger than stock injectors
Load reference
MAP (manifold pressure)
Closed loop boost control programmable via Throttle Position and RPM
No more re-adjusting the boost controller due to changes in temperature or altitude
Keeps boost low while in closed loop fuel mode for reliability
Knock control
Automatically retards timing when the knock is detected safeguarding against engine damage
Adjustable knock threshold, timing correction, and duration
On board data logging
Provides valuable information to assist you in tuning
Built in programmable solenoid controller
Control nitrous, water injection, intercooler water spray or any other solenoid device

Drag racing launch control (secondary rev limit used during launch)
Shave precious time off your launch
Free software upgrades
As we add more features, simply download the latest software version from our website and upload it to the UTEC
Future features (available free via software upgrade) include:

Primary rev limit control
Maximize potential of larger turbochargers and valve train upgrades
MAP to MAF signal conversion
Eliminate the Mass Air Flow sensor and run any turbo you want
And more to come after these!
Unleash the power inside your EVO with the TurboXS UTEC. The revolution is coming so get on board, or move out of the way!

UTEC FAQ

How does the UTEC increase EVO engine performance?

By allowing the user to tune more aggressive ignition timing, air fuel ratios and boost curves. With 36 RPM sites from 250 RPM to 9000 RPM and 10 load sites, the UTEC gives you 360 possible map points for fuel, ignition timing, and boost.

That is why you only ran a 13.8

BTW grounding kits on some cars do help ALOT.. Not sure about the evo.. Alot of cars have bad factory grounds that cause loss of power and hesitations sometimes.
