so check this out...

okay so last night i noticed that if i stick my foot under my clutch pedal and pull it up.... it will release at a completely different point then if i would just let it be. after every night it will just go back to the same position, unless i pull up on it. but once i pull up on it, it will never go back down until i let the car sit over night or something.

is this normal?
what can be done to fix this?

No, I would say that is not normal at all. Have you tried to adjust your clutch pedal yet? If not, I would say try that first.

If you have adjusted your clutch pedal at all then yes it is normal. What you have to do is readjust it to where it doesn't have that free play in it. Mine did the same exact thing because I did adjust it and then put it back to normal because I was getting too many grinds in my shifting.

Make sure you fully tightened everything when you adjusted it... I never adjusted the clutch in the Evo so I don't know how it works but it sounds to me like a screw or two are just barely loose enough.
