Blown Motor, need help with block

alright guys.. the title says it all..

ive blown my motor, and caused alot of damage to the block.

are there any blocks that would bolt right up to the evo's tranny+head

or, should i dish out the cash and go to the dealership and get a new block?

and how much would a new OEM block (no internals) cost me from the dealer?

Make a call to JAM. They'll sent you a fully built block for around 3k

JAM has factory built short blocks for $2,685

If you want a fully built block though you will have to pay for a core, if yours is junk....they are 1,850

A new block would be more than a 2.3. Stock motors from the stealership cost about 7k if im not mistaken and you can get a 2.3 for about 5500 installed and everything.

When I need a new motor It will be built by Buschur. The results are impossible to argue with. Do some researching, You are'nt the first to lose a motor and gather some reults with costs. Can't really go wrong with Buschur,AMS, JAM.

guys.. i already have all the internals here.. Eagle 100mm crank, eagle rods, cp pistons, ACL bearings.. im gonna build it myself.. the motor will be running a PT67R turbo.. BC 280 cams.. Full AMS fuel system and an apexi PowerFC.

as you can see, im not located in the states. so, shipping a built shortblock will cost me an arm and a leg.

all im looking for is a block, since mine is damaged (a hole in the block).. is the evo 4-6 block the same as the 7 and 8??

actually.. i was out of boost when it happened!!

apparently, the previous owner of the car didnt take it to the right mechanic.. one of the piston pins wasen't locked.. and caused movement.. leading to breaking the connecting rod in half.. and the piston falling into the rotating assembly and crunching itself into a million different pieces!

evo III and the dsm blocks will not work but I'm sure you probably already know that....if you just want a block with no internals I'd say dealer is your best bet unless you find someone parting out their car.
