HELP fast...

i recently got a new power steering pump put in and when i went to put in fluid (from Mitsu) i filled it up...turn the car on, cranked the wheel back and forth...then refilled it...and turned it on and cranked the wheel again...only this time i got a really loud whining sound when i turn the wheel and it wont stop...i looked in the fluid resavoir of my power steering pump and the liquid was bubbled up and brownish?

is this supposed to be like this or wat

heep turning the wheels..all the way and it should go away...

You have to turn the wheels back and forth to get the air out of the system. You may have to top off the reservoir a few times during the process.

i did all that...should i just keep turning the wheel cuz its a brand new pump and there is prolly air in there

Yeah, you have to get all the air out of the system. Just keep turning the wheels until it goes away and top off if necessary.

When you turn the wheel, keep it at full lock for 2-5 seconds, then hit up the other side and do the same. Keep doing this while checking the fluid level after each rotation.

well i did all of that for about 15-20 minutes and it hasnt changed...anyother ideas

was it new or refurb? Had you primed the pump? Confirm what fluid you are using. Are you doing with the front wheels in the air?

well i went to ams and supposedly the pump is ****ed so i gotta go back into the shop and get a new one if it does fix itself in a few days

Soooo you bought a steering fluid pump to replace your broken steering wheel pump but this new steering wheel pump is broken too? Damn man...

I feel ya on the bad luck. Stuff like that happens to me aaalll the time. Good luck

i turned the wheel to the right and the left as far as i could...and held it there occasionaly....but yeah i deffinetely got it all the way to both sides...i guess its just the "death whine" for the power steering pump
