While the interest rates on student loans are better than personal loans............................that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Take it from someone who is still paying $250 a month for my Bachelor's degree and $262 for my wife's masters. $512 a month is no joke.

Not the stupidest thing! It's much better than using standard CC or signature loans debt!! In the end your still paying a buttload of interest on a depriciable asset.

I've seen worse, like I said if you gave me a choice CC at 10%++ or Student loan at 6%....I pick student load, plus it has tax advantages down the road.

I guess if you look at it like this... if you spend your student loans on mods, and once your done with those mods, sell them & re-pay it back towards your loans it would be alright. No different than using a credit card, atleast you dont have the bill NOW.

My room mate pays there monthly rent bill with student loans...

I knew this guy during my undergrad who borrowed about 80K and dropped it into his 300Z. It was the fastest car I have ever ridden in, but you know what he had when we graduated? An 80K car that he had to start paying for.

Yeah, i think everyone finds out the hard way, its all good until you're out and actually see the lenders coming to collect.
