12V power source help

hey guys, I'm wiring my e-cutout tommorow and i need a 12v power source for the controller. I was thinking of tapping it from the ignition or out of the fuse box. any suggestions?

Get down to radioshack, and buy a distribution board. Its like a terminal board, but all the screw-connectors are seperated, (not a circuit). anyway, label that thing like power/ground/remote/illum and so on, and fasten it up behind the glovebox. Run each wire to one side of the board, and then whenever you need one of those you can just tap it off the board. It makes everything clean, and avoids messy wire connections because you can use terminal lugs to connect to it. It will save you a TON of time in the future when you want to hook up other things. I have one behind my glovebox, and it powers all of my gauges and electronics, including my cutout.

By the way here is the wires taken from my radio harness (I have a piggyback harness in) but Im pretty sure they're the same, at least power is for sure.

red------------------12v ignition (aka remote)
yellow--------------12v power (you want this one)
black----------------ground
orange-------------illumination
orange/white-----dimmer

Depending on your cutout wiring, you may want to add in a little automotive relay powered by the remote wire to give 12v power to your cutout.
