I took my wing off to redo the clearcoat on it, and it does get a lot less attention from everybody. Without the wing it just looks like an aggressive sedan. Haven't gotten any trouble from the cops either since I took it off. However, I like how the car looks better with the wing on so it'll be back on when I finish with the clearcoat.

As far as covering the holes. I just put a couple screws with washers and nuts in there for the couple weeks I'll have the wing off.

No need to remove wing, The wing doesn't attract attention, your driving and the sound of the car does. Do not waste you money and time removing the wing unless you do not like wings. I am bright f'ing rally red with the stock 03 wing. I have never been pulled over in this thing, and I drive like a crazy man. I am always sideways. Shhh dont tell the wife. lol

Night and day difference for me with the Wing off. With wing on I was pulled over three times in the course of three weeks. With the wing off, not pulled over once in five months. Never ticketed, not speeding or violating any laws, stock exhaust, etc. Just a big time waster because it attracts so much attention. No wing and JDM rear looks almost as good as with the wing or better so just go Wingless

I like the wing and don't mind the attention. I don't drive like a jerk so the cops can eat my ***.

If you are gonna go wingless, you gotta have a JDM rear bumper IMO!!!

What speed do these start to get light in the tail wingless? How much of a problem is it at highway, 70-80mph, speeds.

I think most people start to notice the rear end starting to get a little squirly at about 110+ speeds.

I'm a 54 year old school teacher with a bit of a lead foot and I don't need the unwanted attention from cops and wannabe street racers. I think the big wing makes my car look like a shopping cart anyway, so I had no qualms with putting it in storage. I found a repro '04 wing (no center post) painted and shipped for <$120 on eBay, I think it looks pretty good, and there's no holes in my trunk. It even has a third (fourth?) brakelight that plugs right in to the stock wiring, and now I can see much better out the back window to boot. I'll put the big wing back on when I sell the car someday, and it won't be sun damaged at all.
Now if only I had a quieter exhaust...

With wing or without...both looks awesome. I just think it looks like an "EVO" with the wing. I haven't seen an EVO 6 wingless... also back in the 80s when Mercedes came out with the Evolution it had a nice wing like the EVO.
