Go to any hardware store (or even Target or Wal-Mart for that matter) and look for those felt stickers that you use to put on the bottom of furniture to keep it from scratching on hardwood floors. Cut them to fit and be unseen on the mounting plate of the wing and stick them on there. This keeps the wing from scratching your trunk up when you put it back on (in the event you want to take it off again later).

MI cops love Evos, got followed home again last night...

 

went wingless this week and I love it. I have had the car in a straight line above 145, doesnt feel much different than before. I however bought a rs trunk that way I have the option to throw my wing back on without having crappy looking tape or plugs on my car.

 

As I can see most of you agree that wingless is a way to go. I like the wing too much to take it off. Besides it comes stock and it'sfunctional. I just choose not to worry how other people see it. Many times I see cars that make me laugh but I never go up to them and say what a hell? Every part on Evo has its purpose so why not keep it.

 

I have the stock trunk off my RS- no holes in it for sale if anyone interested.

 

Yes, the wing is functional, but only at higher speeds (over 100 MPH). I took it off because it's winter time and with all the snow we've been getting and the fact that I'm running around on WS-50's, I don't see me hitting triple digit speeds that often. In other words, it's not worth the unwanted attention in the winter time. Plus, they use so much salt on the roads up here that I don't want the wing's clear coat to have any more of a reason to deteriorate faster than usual. In the summer time, it'll probably go back on.

It definitely made a difference for me. When I first bought the car brand-new, I would always have cops staring at the car. And I wasn't doing anything other than driving the car like a normal person would to/from work.

Then, I swapped out the big wing for the smaller spoiler and never get a glance from cops. So, it worked for me.

you obviously don't drive in MA. i got pulled over for doing 40 in a 30... right in front of a 40mph speed limit sign, luckily limit signs are all over rt 140, and there is no 30 zone. It was a statey who assumed it was a 30 zone, and just wanted to pull me over.

I've considered taking my Wing off. But I like my factory wing, I think it's one of the best looking wings that comes from the factory. F**k the haters and especially the cops, I obey the law for the most part. People that don't know EVO's, are always surprised when I tell them, "It's a stock factory wing". Why should I give up stabilate and style, just so I don't attract attension.

to think cops really notice stuff like that happen lol It's really surpising how much the wing amps up the Evo. I mean D: wow.. I've seen this white evo with their wing off. It's not as noticible until you hear him haul ***.
