sorry if its the wrong section
But im kinda getting bored with the gto not because it lacks power or anything lol but the stupid scene.
I went from FD/240s to the GTO and its completely different. Domestic guys hate everything I like lol.
so my question is if anyone has traded how do they compare in the driving experience department ?

Make friends with people based on something other than what car they (or you) drive. I have friends with pick-up trucks, riced out imports, muscle cars, and German cars. It makes the conversations more interesting anyway. I went to one Evo meet and I got tired of hearing the same things from everyone.... AMS this, Buschur that, Evo Green... bla bla bla.
If I would go from a 6.0 v8 to an Evo I would miss the low end torque like crazy but the Evo handles great.

I had an '06 GTO six speed, was my main transportation. I loved the car, kind of a sleeper, did not get too much attention on the road except from those who knew what it was. I loved the power, flat wide torque band. Handled exceptionally well for a 3800 pound car. I took it to the track for road race events, the weight and small tires-235-18's, couldnt stop or turn the car once hot. I ended up geting rid of it for the evo because I couldn't go anywhere in any type of snow-sleet. One day I literally couldn't get out of my driveway. I drove the evo and loved the handling, I am a track junkie. The GTO was dynoed at 335whp after a flash. I have been modding the evo trying to get the same power. I am close now-(see my mods). The cars are two very different beasts. GTO, more mature, softer ride easier on long drives, gas mileage sucks around town, 12-16mpg, highway-24mpg. I still miss the GTO but love the EVO. Would like to have both-diferent purposes for each. Hope that helps.

I never understood the whole " imports vs domestics" thing, I like cars because of what they have to offer, not because of their company. Most" foreign " cars in the US are built here now anyway.
I had a 432whp 2002 Camaro z28 and a stock 1999 Camaro SS. I loved those cars with a passion. Tire smoke, incredible even torque across the power band, TONS of top end power; that Z28 hardly lost a battle. With a catback, ported, TB, and a lid (intake), I ran 13.181 @ 107.9 mph, and that was slow with a 2.12 60 ft (clutch wasn't liking the VHT surface much). I wanted to try for 12.9 but the clutch just couldn't pull off a faster 60ft time than a 2.12.
Anyways, I left those cars. I made a profit off of the SS, and took a little hit in the Z28 (it needed a couple fixes so I sold it a little cheaper than I normally would). I want my Z28 back in a huge way in the future, but honestly, the Evo just took hold of my attention and it has yet to lose it. I went from a pewter cammed muscle car to a yellow evo; this is one hell of a change. The grip is mainly what sold me, but the handling, ability to school people in the esses, and the steering response are all what the LS1s don't have.
Point is, don't buy a car based upon the crowd you hang with. Buy one that puts a smile on your face. I still hang w/ my LS1 buddies..
