I accidentally scraped the edge of my trunk, left the rear windowshield wiper & open my trunk. I think some paint was scraped off because I can feel a slight indentation of the surface.

My question is can I just touch it with some touch paint or do I need to "prep" the area first then touch it up? Please help!

 

I used touch up on my yellow 03 and like couple of months later it turned color, like it faded away.

 

It all depends on the size of the scrape, but I've never had good luck with touch up paint. I've done what I've been instructed, ordered from the best, and in the end it almost always looks worse than if I had just left it alone (or better yet, brought it to someone).

 

yeah touch up paint doesn't usually turn out looking that great...the main thing it's for is to prevent rust
