tuning info, any comments?
Hey guys ive just started to work on my evo, current have a AEM intake and AMS TBE, and was wondering what kind of tune you guys would recommend? next on my list is a boost controller (also looking for an opninon on that), but after what kind of tune, and how far should i go? any comments are appreciated thanks
Everyone will tell you that you should get a Hallman Boost Controller. Just keep the Forge UNOS in mind also. I think it's a great MBC and the ratcheting action keeps the boost set just right.
As for the tune, you can either get an e-mail tune by someone reputable like Mellon, (if you have a laptop, Tactrix cable, Evoscan or Mitsulogger and ECUflash)or you could do a dyno or road tune depending on what shops you can get to.
Sounds like you'll be learning alot and enjoying your evo!

Search and you'll find a lot more opinions.
I agree with a Hallman MBC, I personally run one on my own car and it works great.
I don't agree with a Walbro or UICP as a next mod.
I would look at getting your manifold ported and an o2 housing. Those will give you the best gains.
After that I would then reccomend a Walbro, Intercooler and Piping. The stock fuel pump on the Evo IX's flows much better than Evo VIII so its not a mod needed asap.
As far as a tune, I can help you get the car custom tuned via email or if you'd like to take a 3 hour drive down to West Palm Beach I can give you a custom road tune.
PM me for details
Cheers!
