Thats a great point! I shattered a clutch too and was lucky then, accidents like these can take half your legs off.....

*with a deeper investigation, the fluid was leaking, where the transfer case meets the tranny, there was almost no oil inside...it must have been a small leak and being the car left outside covered, maybe rain ect. washed the marks away so i didnt notice any oil, it was parked right next to grass, about 5 inches away so it might have washed into the grass and i never noticed...

Shep told me to pull the tranny and he will repair it. He also said if these trannys even run a quart low this can happen...lesson learned, never underestimate fluids and always be checking them...

Damn, sorry to hear. So you stated you couldn't get into any gears but the car started up. Did you just tow it home? Scattershield sounds like a good idea, never know what can happen. Hopefully you can have your car up and running soon.

Good luck.

I know of two local evo owners who had transmission problems having had leaks in the exact area .

Do yourself a favor and keep a large piece of cardboard under your engine bay just to see if any leaks occur.

I hope everything works out OK.
