Yeah, im 21 and don't have any accidents, or any points. I will be getting married shortly also which i have heard lowers your insurance. I have a good friend who is a mechanic, although i dont beleive he has ever touched an evo, but i may talk him into coming with me if my first look at it works out. I have a pretty good knowledge of cars, just not AWD. What company did you go with for your insurance because it sounds pretty good? If i can get out the door with insurance and car payment combined costing around $600 i will be happy as long as the car checks out.

make sure you factor in the cost of gas. ~$45 a tank for only 240-280miles. YMMV. So if its your daily driver to work and back, its gonna get costly.

I wouldn't buy it, it has a lot of miles on it and god knows how it was treated. Personally I think you'd be better off waiting until you can find a newer evo with a warranty and then jumping on that.

Evos have a warranty LOL yea right. Just make sure you get it checked out throughly. Take it for a drive check, the fluids, check the frame, then try to talk them down 1000.

I feel that with owning an EVO you have to be able to work on it your self. There are many little things that can happen that take no time to fix if you know what to look for and have your own tools.

That said go for it just check it out first and if you cqant bring your mechanic with you.

F the haters. Their just mad they spent 30k plus on thiers JK

So yesterday i checked out the car, and it was in mint condition inside and out. It had perfect all leather interior, sunroof, and there wasnt a single scratch, or dent on the whole car. It has had 1 owner according to car fax, and never been into a repair shop other that to have the tranny serviced by the dealer. There were no wines from the transmission, or rear diff either. They originally priced it at 24,999 and i locked it in for 18,000 if i can make it back there by Friday with insurance. The only problem on the entire car is the AEM boost gauge isn't working. It has a greddy turbo timer that works good, and an intake but other than that and a exhaust it looks stock. Seems like a good deal to me what do you guys think? Oh and it came from indiana where it lived for a few years, and the guy moved down here to florida around Deland or Daytona, its APEX silver if anyone knows of this person.

Probably will... I've wanted 1 for 5 years now.

Also, anyone know about finances since I know very little? if I buy it now, it'll be a loan for a term of 5 years, and $465 per payment. With taxes title, dealer fees the cost of the car came out to $20,000. After 5 years of paying $465 a month I will have paid $27,000 for the car..Is that bad or average or what?

I know im making this a pain in the ****, but i havent bought a car I didn't have cash for.

Thanks

I wouldn't pay that much for it. I have a 2005 and my payments are only $350.

Chances are you won't keep it for 5 years anyway so trying to calculate the total amount you're going to pay just makes it looks more scary.

What sort of interest rate are you looking at?

Too much.

Who is finanancing your loan?. Seems like the interest is a little high. I paid 18k for my evo and my payments are only 350 per month.

I'm not sure what my interest is, I'm going to have to take a look at the papers. I can back out at this point, but I have to make up my mind by tomorrow. How does Re-Financing work if i did get it? Would i have to finance it for the 27k or for the 20k for the car? I went in there figuring $360 per month then they came out with ($465), but keep in mind this is my first real loan.

when buying a car the first rule is to negotiate based on the price of the car NOT the monthly payment

that's how they rip you off

Stick with the $360 per month budget and let the dealer know that. They'll figure out a way to get you that price if they know you're serious and they want to move the car out of their lot. And don't let them increase the loan terms to more months. Good luck and hold your ground on the price. They need you more than you need the Evo.

Thanks guys, i'm going to have a talk w/ them later today. I have some papers to go over also, and we will see. I must be getting raped on the financing because total cost of the car came out to 20,000 before financing which, shouldnt make it that much per month.
