Lemon Law
Lemon Law
After continuos problems with my evo, i finally get what i deserve. I was informed today that i will either get paid back for my ride or another evo. I am not sure what i should do. Should i wait for the 04's if they will have these tranny problems revised or should i purchase another 03? Need help deciding what to do
Can I ask how you got them (them being Mitsubishi) to 'agree' that they sold you a Lemon. Did you threaten them with litigation or did they offer you those two options, what? I know you had a lot of problems but I figure they would have offered to replace/fix everything under warranty.....
one way is to take the car back for repair. if they cannot repair the problem then it is a lemon. if they repair it and it breaks and you return it and they do this 3 times it is a lemon.
there are several other ways too. If you have a squeak or other such problem no luck but if it is a major issue you may have a case.

Sorry Mr. Kazoo ... had to throw that one in. Hey I say jump on another '03 ... like the other guy said, chances of having 2 lemons are slim to none. Hey this time get White!
yea i was thinking ofn white but i dunno, tarmac is sexy! yea mitsu was really cool to me about this whole thing and even asked if i wanted a brand new evo or full refund. Maybe they arent always all that bad? well from what i have heard the 04's are going to be faster too. Anyone know?
Well,
At least they stepped up and took care of you man! Good job Mitsu!
Then again you had a clear cut lemon case that would have gone your way without a hitch. Hopefully they will take your car back and reverse engineer the problems so we can all benefit in the long run.
Dis you even have a chance to drive the car much with all the problems you had? I'm guessing you never got to enjoy it. That said, the experience will probably always be in the back of your mind even with a new one, it's no fun to have a new toy you have no faith in.
I say take the money (assuming you won't be loosing anything and get all your paymetns back as well). If they release an 04 model you will be able to get one of those or pick up a leftover 03 for less than we all paid.....

Sorry, what was your tranny issue? - Mine will bulk into 2nd at higher RPMs while the cluch is fully depressed which is somewhat dissapointing.
And is the engines tendency to want to stall shortly after starting with the engine hot something anyone else has noticed?

Not happy with your EVO?
Not happy with your EVO?
but yeah, I'm going to trade my Z28 for an STI in a few months, then I'll have an EVO and an STI!
The EVO is somewhat too "noticable" to be my daily driver, I work in some bad areas and it simply draws alot of attention from the wrong types - I just KNOW that it will get stolen and/or I'll get beat over the head or shot if I keep using it as my commuter. So I've been driving my Camaro (debadged, looks like a V6) like I used to, but I am going to trade the Camaro for a silver STI, then swap the STI trunk and hood for ones off a 2.5RS (stickers and all!) and mount a black FMIC on it. It will then look like just about every other Subbie Impreza on the road, yet be capable of 12s!
The EVO will stay my weekend fun and racing car and will receive the vast majority of my mod money once I get the Subie setup with the FMIC and hood/trunk.
Well, at least that my plan... sounds stupid to alot of people I explain it to, but it makes perfect sense to me.
