Outpowering GT-R in Evo 8 on 93 Octane?

Going wild on turbo inherently increases lag and decreases torque down low. We all know the new GT-R's going to be a monster.

I'm assuming a 2.3 or 2.4, head, HTA-35R with supporting mods is going to be in order if competing power-wise (no handling discussion in this thread, please) with the GT-R. With a probable lacking in lower-end torque still, I imagine more power on the top end than the GT-R will be in order. Say, 550hp.

Let's not dive into all the details, just the big pieces. How're we going to be GT-Rs with our VIIIs?

Thanks.

The GTRs seem to trap 119-122mph , so about 400ish WHP depending dyno is probably all thats needed to run neck and neck from roll/dig. Driver mod will need work if slow shifters are going to be racing the GTRs dual clutch gearbox ahah.

2.3 or 2.4 wont be needed necessarily.

400-425whp should be what you need, depending on how much they weight in at.

This all sounds good, but what happens when you come up against a modded GT-R. I'm sure its only a matter of time before somebody figures out how to hack the engine and the drivetrain computer on that as well. Its probably going to be the same answer to the question "how to you run with a modded Supra?" Answer "A lot of money."

You prob would need a built motor or anything even bigger than a 20g. It you maxed out a 20g (ALL bolt-ons, race gas or alky or e85), anything bigger than that would just be a bonus.

What happens when a modded GTR wants to run? Who ever buys the GTR has money to mod it...

+1

By the time we all catch up in power, the GT-R will slap mods on the car.
