Another warranty issue

So I visited my local Mitsubishi dealership to talk to the warranty rep. about the clear coat peeling on my brake calipers and wing on my VIII. He tells me that the only person who is able to get those things fixed/replaced is the original owner. However, it clearly states in the warranty manual that any subsequent owner still has 5 year/ 60000 miles New Car Limited Warranty. What I need to know is what I need to do in order to get this stuff replaced. The only other dealership even remotely close to us (it's actually over 50 miles away) is the New Orleans dealership and unfortunately he is the rep. for that one as well. Help please!

I would go ahead a get the calipers fixed but since you have a VIII wing take it to a bodyshop and get it recleared. Mitsubishi if they go ahead and warranty the wing will just give you a IX wing wich isn't all carbon fiber like the VIII wing. +1 on what the above guys said...if that doesn't work then call corparate and a lawyer.

is it really worth paying a lawyer to take care of. i mean there how-tos for the calipers and im sure theres plenty of people that have recleared the wing on their own too.
i think he would just be happier if it was done for free

I went back to Mitsubishi with the warranty book in hand and I had high lighted the section that proves me correct but the warranty rep. just so happen to have left at that point. The only person that was still there I could talk to was the lady in charge of the service dept. and she said that whatever the warranty rep. says, goes.

well then you have 2 options
1. get ahold of him later and see what he says about the highlighted section
2. DIY

does the section your talking about seem open for interpretation or is it pretty clear about what it means
