JDM headlights solution..

Hey guys, always see people frustrated on the wiring of JDM headlights on USDM evos etc. Well I have a Evo IX GSR non-hid no fogs and I got a 9006 HID kit on right now. So to my understanding the JDM VIII Headlights are H1 (Correct me if I'm wrong) and everything else besides the fogs are the same (I don't plan on using the fogs I think USDM is H11 JDM is 9006) So I think it's simple as connect the ORM 9006 harness to the 9006 HID ballast and buying a pair of H1 bulbs and connect them to the 9006 ballast (the connecters of most aftermarkets bulbs are the same) and voila? Please correct me if its possible or not and if you've done it tried I personally don't see why it wouldn't work but just wanted to hear some opinions. TIA

if its any help, the only thing that didnt work with mine was the fog lights. jdm lights on evo 8. and all i had to do was get the correct bulb and a gm headlight plug fit so i jsut had to splice the new plug on the stock harness.

Solution

I did find a solution for guys running the non HID JDM headlights on their USDM non HID evo with aftermarket HID's (9006 connector).

The only real issue is the low beam (running light) on the usdm headlight is a 9006 bulb and the low beam/running light on the JDM headlight is a H1 bulb. The factorY H1 halogen bulb has a tan tab/adapter on the back of the bulb, this isn't supplied on aftermarket HIDs. But I did find one online specifically for the evo/H1 bulb.

Solution:
So order H1 HID bulbs of your choice, remove USDM headlight harness (to utilize 9006 connector on car harness to HID harness) attach usdm headlight harness onto JDM headlights.(remove jdm headlight harness) Order this H1 adapter for and you should be good to use JDM headlights w HIDs.
