Lots of time spent working on the evo today

Well a few weeks ago I broke a bolt off in my turbo exhaust housing and today I spent an hour and a half torching, drilling, punching, re-threading. Also had to weld a bung for my wide band O2 sensor, lost my 14mm socket in the engine bay and had to fish for that for about 30 minutes. also re-used my ring gasket on the O2 and replaced all the crappy megan gaskets with oem ones. Those were the worst gaskets I have ever seen.

So far I got everything that was wrong or needed to be done to the evo was fixed today and have to finish putting it together tommorow. I got the wires for the LC-1 cable ran though the firewall and will connect it tomorrow. I still have to go to best buy and a get a serial to usb cable because my laptop doesn't have a male serial port if any do? Why don't they just use usb instead of serial??? My tactrix cable should be in the mail when I get home and I can't wait to start logging O2 and evo scan. Anyways that was my excitement today I'll have pictures tomorrow.

I'm at the same place, ironically --- I've got the LC-1 gear prepped, tactrix cable is here, but they're out of the serial to USB cable at my local Best Buy! Good luck with the ongoing project. Hopefully, we'll both be up and logging soon.

I have those days too. When everything seems to not be going right. Drop a socket here, can't find it. Break a bolt here, spend hours fixing it. I hate those days...that's why I started smoking. STRESS....

I hear ya buddy. A broken stud in the hotside turned out to be taking everything out...ordering a ported hotside from Buschur, titek O2housing radiator hoses, motor mount etc... working all night getting it all back together. Im hoping the minor mods make a noticeable diff. Thats broken bolt turned out to be a friggen expense!!! But well worth it!

I got everything running today and now I just have to finish up the wiring, should be able to drive it tomorrow. No exhaust leaks anymore so thats a huge plus the oem gaskets work wonders.

I had purchased an OEM gasket for the TITEK O2 but the TITEK came with its own gasket being part of the gasket sealed the housing differently to the hotside than the stock one did; there was a small peice of gasket material in the middle where the stock was just a perimeter gasket. Just make sure thats not the case with the MEGAN O2

You can't go wrong with a mellon tune, I am glad you took my advice and got a WB O2. You will be very happy with your car once you upload the new ROM

Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to put new plugs in with the tune, one step colder.
