Here's the deal with insurance companies. You are going to pay the same deductible regardless, and they don't want you to know you don't have to use the company they recommend and they still have to pay for the repairs within reason. I have USAA and they recommended the dealership but I have seen those monkeys work on cars so I went somewhere else and told them who my insurance was and they took care of everything. Look into your options, if you know a reputable body shop in your area ask them for a quote and to contact your insurance company if you decide to go with them. Sorry to hear about the jerk leaving but chances are if he took off he didn't have insurance anyhow and you would have just gotten a judgement against him that he wouldn't have paid and you would be right where you are now with less money in your pocket and more hatred for the other guy.

Had an insurance estimator come to my house today, he said I would have to take it to a body shop because he thinks that the frame might be bent and some other stuff might be misaligned.
Anyone know any place in the Central Valley area (California) that's good with Evos/bodywork?
