it's running rich, not a good rich.

 

Sometimes after installing new exhaust parts (downpipes and o2 housings mainly) the oil on the part from machining or your fingers or whatever will burn off and make a nasty smell for a couple of days to a week. If you recently did some work that's probably it. It is a very noticable rotten-egg like smell.

If it smells like rotten eggs, it is your catalytic converter, not your clutch.

 

I actually got the CEL P0420 for my cat dying and haven't gotten the smell yet. But then again, I have been sick recently and my sense of smell is just now returning.
