evo_domination gets the ingnoramus statement award.
i'm removing my whole system this weekend. not because its bad or anything, but i kind of messed up a few parts of it and feel that it's basically dead weight.

I replaced it with a bigger intercooler and a bigger custom airbox.

At sustained continous loads on a hot day (roadracing) the evaporative effect helps heat soak and will help keep power from fading.

Noticible seat of the pants feeeling? probably not so much.

The way the spray system is programmed, it's worthless, dead weight. I have been putting it in automatic mode for road track HPDEs for 4 years and I never saw the level in the tank drop significantly. I finally pulled it out last year.

The only use it seems to have is to balance out the equally worthless rear window wiper!

Evan, you newb, you got pwned by everyone on here...

It makes a difference, yes, at higher speeds it makes even more of a difference. The Auto does work (all your ECUs must be messed up) it worked great on mine, when the car's temp would rise it would spray about every 3-5 seconds. And even if it didn't do anything for power it did make a slight difference on long track days keeping the temps a little lower...

BUT, it is basically useless and the difference it made wasn't significant especially not as significant as having the ACD (who's controls are much better mounted straight on the steering wheel where the volume control should be on the X )

And the rear window wiper is SUPER useful... I'd think someone in Michigan could appreciate it as much as someone from Utah... Guess not. I would die without a rear window wiper, I'm glad the C4 comes with one because the C2s do not.

I know the rear window wiper is off-topic, BUT, I could never understand it's usefullness on a notch-back body style sedan where the manufacturer has gone to a lot of trouble to save weight. I thought it was some kind of weird Japanese status thing. I have had hatchbacks, wagons, vans, etc where a rear wiper is essential for winter use. You just don't get much road spray on the rear window of the car with the Evo's body style.

stole the words right out of my mouth.
believe it or not, unlike the majority of the US market, some people go flying through mud puddles with their evos! imagine that!

while i might remove mine for weight, it IS nice for wiping off snow as it collects on the rear window too. evo in the snow!? imagine that!
