Dont even bring up the trade until he gives you a good price on the evo.

Going from a 7s beemer to a 05 VIII...Priceless

Drive a MR first and see if you think it's worth the price diff as they are less extreme as a daily driver, esp coming from that BMW. If you find the reg Evo to your liking go for it. Had I actually bought the RS, I'm almost cirtain I would have been trading it in down the road for something more suited for a DD. Though you didn't mention how you planned to use the car.

I paid $29,999 for mine in 2007 with 7,000 miles, at a dealership. I would say this is high y0.

got my ww IX MR from Brad Benson a week after it was on the lot way back in 2005/2006, had 30 miles on the clock. I let them shaft me a little (was 38k out the door) because I wanted WW and couldn't find them anywhere...
Point being, these guys are no different to other dealerships. Be prepared to talk them down, take up their time - make them give in to YOU.
I don't trust their customer service, but their Evo tech - Claudio is awesome.
Be real thorough about getting the history of the car, and figuring out how bad it was beat on. I know the staff their (without naming particulars) really hammer the test drive models.

I say look around a bit more, and don't just settle for the first one you see. You will then later on be kicking yourself because you could've gotten a better deal.

Is that a good deal? Not at all. I was looking on Autotrader, there's a few new IX's left. Might as well spend a little more and get a new one or shop around. There's better deals out there. Might have to travel though.

I got a mine for what I consider a steal.

28K for a IX SE with 6K miles on it. Cherry. With my RA as a trade in it got it for a little under 20...

Look to spend no more than 25-28 for a lightly used evo if you can.

Ken Garff downtown, SLC Utah. The catch was that it was a lemonlaw buyback. The previous owner complained about a whine in first gear that she claimed was unsafe. Turns out thats just the way first gear is cut, it has a whine similar to reverse. Anyway mitsu went back over the car at their facility in Irvine, CA, dealer bought it here and I was looking at it/signing papers as it was rolling off the truck. The best part is that it is still under factory warranty, and because of the previous owners complaints the tranny has been replaced *TWICE* in the 6K miles it had on it, both times it was unnecessary but hey, new tranny on basically a new evo. It spent most of its life in the shop, still has 3/4 tread on the stock advans. Great deal..pretty rare. I couldn't be happier with it. Particularly since its still warrantied (and yes I got it in writing), as well I had someone I know in the service dept pull the whole history on the car so I could make a decision as to whether or not I wanted to purchase a "factory reacquired vehicle," and in this case...HELL YES!

wow thats a pretty sweet deal Similar to a friend of mine, he purchased a 06 Gto with around 20k miles for 22k and a little later found out he had a spun rod bearing. Got a new engine under warranty so practically paid 22k for a brand new car. Your definitely right though these deals are pretty rare. Hope I can find something like that.

I made out pretty good myself buying from a dealer. IX MR/SE with 16k bone stock for 29k. The part that sweetened the deal was the original person that bought the car had purchased it at the very same dealer, had it serviced every 5K at that dealer and then sold it back to them since he had to go over sea's and would not be back for a few years. It also had the option for the 10yr-100k powertrain for an extra 1,300.

The only crappy part was taking a 4k hit on the Minivan as a trade so I had to throw down 10k cash just to get payments to 400 per month, so it wasn't all good, lol.

The point...The deals are out there
