No, they shouldn't. Have a mini battery in mine and it actually has more CCA than the stock battery. Starts right up, no matter how cold. Which battery did you use?

Make sure that the terminals are tightened down good along with the brass terminals for the mini battery. I had to retighten the positive terminal when my car was experiencing some shut downs and re-starts while driving! Everything is good now .

I've also been wondering about this. What is the normal life for a mini-battery? I'd hate to be at school (100 miles from home) and can't get my car to start.

I understand that the CCA are similar, but I'm wondering about total life (length wise).

The mini battery should last as long as a regular battery. As for your problem in cold weather starts it should not be doing that.

Had a mini battery mine for about a week before I started having starting diffilculty. Sent it back to Buschur and they determined it was a faulty battery, however I didnt want these issues again so I went to a trunk mount. The Odyssey PC680 was the mini battery I had trouble with. Went with a PC1200 instead. No problems since.

I have just recently starting having some issues, mostly my fault. Went out of town for two weeks, came back and the battery was dead. Had it charged up. Then I installed a new Alpine deck and spent some time setting up the levels with key on engine off. I didn't spend too much time doing this, and the next day the battery is dead. I am running the Genesis Enersys.

Are any of you guys running a battery tender? What are some recommendations?
