2.3 liter Evo 8!

Off TODA's web site....it's their Evo 8 project car.
http://www.todaracing.com/topics/project_cars/evo.html

Their site says 325hp at the wheels before rebuilding the engine

I've actually been doing some research into the current stroker kits (long term planning? ) My concern is that every one of them seems to also increases the bore size. Anyone have good info on the lifespan of these bored and stroked engines?

Cheap is a relative term.....And the cost of the part is only part of the equation. Most people would also have to pay a labor rate to get it installed/removed if it failed. That rate couls easily eclipse the cost of the part itself.

The labor in itself is no laughing matter. Disassembling a block is not a quick job by any means. I know if I just spent over $3000 and worked my *** off to rebuild a motor I would be seriously pissed off if the block were to fail. I just don't have money or time like that! I guess some of us are just blessed...

If it's possible to bore out an aluminum Mazda/Honda block by 1mm, then boring out the iron block Evo by 1mm shouldn't be an issue.

Although stroking the motor is an expensive proposition

Some of these places want a small fortune for these stroker kits. I got my 4g64 with forged internals for 3500 on my DSM. I get 30lbs on my gt40 t350 .82 ar exhaust housing turbo at 4200. The spool is incredible. The torque is addicting and the pump gas power will make others very jealous and very scared. Something tells me you guys should be able to use a 7bolt 4g64 crank to do a decently cheap stroker.

You are only going to see the big gains if you go with a bigger turbo. The stock turbo barely has enough flow to run 20lbs on a 2 liter

It pays to read carefully.....

"Their site says 325hp at the wheels before rebuilding the engine "

So that means the 325hp was BEFORE the stroker kit.
