Dash Gauges are always on....WTF?

Yeah, my gauges (mph, odo, fuel, temp and LANCER) stays lit regardless of whether or not i turn the headlights off. So sometimes at night, im driving around in a pretty lighted street area with no headlights on thinking that they are on because my dash lights are. They turn off only when the car is turned off.

Is a problem or something new im figuring out about my EVO?

Have you done any wiring for boost gauge, turbo timer, etc? Or the previous owner?

Thumbs up

Mine are always on too, on mine it shows the green light symbol to show my lights are on. Not sure your model has that or not but that is how I tell. I can leave my lights on also and they auto turn off when I turn off the car and open my door then turn back on when I start it. Mine is 06 SE.

dude...all evos are like this...every since the evo 7..hahahahha...
i cant believe you just found that out!!

also..you should realize your headlights are on not only from your gauge cluster...but from the visibility infront of you..as well as the a/c lights wont be on if your headlights are not!!!

i just installed mines, their like that too. something has to do with the black wire next to the dimmer wire...that shouldnt be a prob anyways, just turn on the lights when you need it and shut off the car when you get to your destination.

LOL REALLY?

Thats kinda dumb though because it would prematurely wear the dash light bulb.

So mitsu couldn't make gauges visible in broad daylight?

Now...when the bulb goes...not only can you not drive at night...but you can't drive during the day either.

Mine doesnt do that. My gauges only come on when I turn on my headlights or put it in the secondary ACC Lighting switch.

*shrug*
