Sounds like a great deal to me. Do they charge membership fee and tech inspection fee?

I'd love to join you guys for the Leguna Seca event too, please keep me posted.

Thanks and hope to see you guys soon!

No, you do your own tech inspection with a checklist. It's pretty cool and not a hassle. I think we're going to do Laguna with speedventures too. It was easy and totally kick-back.

BTW, There's a meet in Torrance tonight and a bunch of the SoCalEvo guys including myself are going to be there if you guy want to go.

Passenger's and drivers have to sign a waiver and you get your wrist band thing so you can drive or be a passenger. I was the passenger in all the videos . I wish I brought my evo. Instead I drove our Ford Escape race support truck haha.

Dude I really wish I could join you guys but I lived over 400 miles from Torrance (i.e. San Fran).

Btw, did any of you went to the Ontario gathering? I heard that there're couple weekends that there're over 100 mod cars racing around that area... just like in the movie 2F2F. Wonder if that's a myth or true...

All depends on which car club you join. In most cases your car need to be inspected by a tech to make sure the tire is ok, suspension doesn't fell out, engine looks ok, etc.

Also you need to have a helmet ready, some clubs lets you in if you have a motorcycle helmet, but others requires you to get a auto helmet.

Did I say that some track, including Legua Seca, has a noise control that the car's exhaust can't go louder than certain db?

BTW everyone, i've been encoding and uploading videos all week. Go to www.socalevo.net and click on gallery. The rest is pretty self explanatory. Some of the videos are huge in size but I couldn't encode them any smaller without ruining the quality. Enjoy!

Speedventures is a very cool organization! I've done a couple track days with them, this was the first in my EVO, and they are always great!! I'm a little dissappointed that I won't be able to do buttonwillow with them next weekend, but I may got to Thunderhill in November I think it is. Laguna Seca will decimate all track days!! For those that have never driven laguna, it's beyond compare IMO. As for the noise restrictions there's really only one way around it, you just have to lift as you approach/pass the mic station, then back on the gas. It sounds bad , but it's really a lift for a split second then back on. Damn neighbors complain too much about the noise. Here's a tip, if you're worried about noise, don't buy a house near a F@CKING RACETRACK!!!!!

So does Willow Springs still have the Memorials to all the drivers that died on course? That kinda scared me to see that like 6 people have lost their lives there! ach!

I loved running on that track back in the ITR days. Just don't go off course! Or you'll be vacuuming the dust out of your car for months!

SC~

Couldn't agree more! LOL By the way, can anyone confirm if there's a membership fee to join SpeedVenture? I don't seem to find such info in their web site. Thanks!
