I was pretty unimpressed with the 92 octane gas you guys get up there. Didn't seem much better than our 91 octane. I'd suggest trying both maps to see which one results in smoother performance. If you put in a slightly too aggressive map, nothing bad will happen. You'll just feel knock sensor activity, resulting in less-smooth performance. In the end, however, I think you'll be better off with the 91 octane maps.

Cheers,
shiv

Back to earlier, is the harness an extra $90 or is it included in the $795 price? I haven't seen anything regarding the extra $90, but Limey seems to think that's the case. I'd like to know either way so I can order the harness seperately if needed so I don't have an Xede without the harness. Thanks.

Okay, I just now looked at your website again and now see the plug and play harness is listed seperately for $90, though just a few days ago, it was listed as included with the Xede for the $795, so if ordered last week (8/4) is it going to be included?

Sorry Liandrin11. but I think you will have to spring the $90....I have been waiting for this harness since June and on several occasions Shiv has highlighted that this harness will be circa $100.00 when it arrives...on the other hand maybe he's feeling charitable?

Hi Shiv,

I have a stage zero plus on order hope to have it shipped next week if the plug and plays are ready to go. I can not wait to drive the Evo when this is in. My question is are you planning on going back to Altered Atmosphere? I live in Western PA and getting there is 4 hours but the closest to me. PM me or post what your thoughts are.
Thanks Adolfo

Yeah, the only reason I even bring it up is because last week on the Vishnu website, it specifically said 'includes Xede computer, plugin harness, and 6' serial cable' for $795 and it only just changed in the last day or two where it's $90 for the harness, and at the time I ordered, it said it was included.

Adolfo and Shiv,
You read my mind. I talked to Mark (the main man on this site) and called one of the guys at Altered Atmosphere last week about setting up another dyno tuning day there hopefully end of Sept or Oct. Mark said he'll talk to Shiv about it, and AAM was open to anything pending their dyno schedule. Basically, and correct me if I'm wrong everybody, we need 10 new xede orders and Shiv will fly out here and work his magic. I guess there's also a fairly hefty charge for the dyno time itself. I think I spoke w/ Brett briefly last week at Vishnu and he said I could count my pending xede order, so I'm hoping they'll count Adolfo's order and another one of my friend's -- so we may only need 7 more. Shiv, please verify that we're on the right track here...

Also, could you possibly give us an idea of which one of your maps should we be running w/ an aftermarket dp, stock cat converter, and aftermarket catback -- something like a stage 0.5? I think a lot of people are running a similar setup. Thanks.

Shiv-
Any chance of possibly creating a 100 octane map for the XEDE for those of us that have local gas stations that sell it? Thanks in advance.

doc_evo depending on how funding works out, if I'm in an Evo by October, I would be ordering my Stage Zero or Stage One soon after (or at the very least an XEDE and the PnP harness). So maybe if the date is pushed slightly to later October, I would be one of the 10 you need.

Nothing's certain though. I'm still working on affording the Evo and still have to test drive one first anyway.

Yeah, you'll need to get it remapped whenever you make any changes and assuming there're already maps made for your new mods, you can just download them free and load them on to the Xede. If there aren't maps accounting for your new mods, you'll need to buy the $100 software and map it yourself.

Liandrin11...the old xede does come with a " plug in harness" although you have to splice to install the plug that the xede harness plugs into

Hey Shiv, any special deals on the Stage 1 when you come to Houston? I might like to come down from Dallas for the tuning session.

The only traveling plans I have at this time is to CT (pruven perf) on Oct 4-5 and then to Houston on Oct 11-12. I'm always up to a midwest tuning trip if there is enough demand and an available AWD dyno (anything but Dynapack which take too long to set a car up).

As for knock sensor signal adjustments, we do it with the XEDE to induce a more aggressive ignition learning behavior. In fact, on most EVOs, this feature alone has been shown to raise output by 7-8 wheel hp on 91 octane fuel by making the stock ECU more eager to add in spark advance. The attenuation amount is quite small so that actual knock is still easily detected if it were to ever occur. This is another feature we spent a lot of time on-- trying different attenuation amounts in different rpm/load points.

Cheers,
Shiv
Speaking about CT tuning trips.

I have about 8 slots open for oct. 4th to 5th. PM or email if you would like in.
