shifting???

shifting???

i have an o6 evo ix and im not saying im not an amazing shifting but im not bbaad at all but anyway...when im racing and in 3rd gear at around 7ooo rpms i go to shift into 4th and its like about to get into 4th but its like a wall stopping me, i use all my strengh to get into the gear but i need to double clutch...its bu11$hit...you think it would be the gear box or what???

have you tried shifting slower?

Try waiting a split second and then smoothly slipping it into fourth gear. I hit this onramp by my house in 3rd gear all the time and shift into 4th between 6500-7k and I've never had any problem going into 4th gear. I think the key is to be smooth and not try and force it into gear and it always helps to pause for just a moment and then go to the next gear.

Yep, we can't shift our cars like a honda unless you send your tranny to Shep or TRE.

tell me about it, ive owned a 91 hatch w/ jdm type r motor and a 04 accord v6 and you can rip the SHI$ out of honda transmissions!!! oh how i wish my evo shifted like a honda

Yeah, you just have to take things slower. I've missed 4th a couple of times because I was trying to shift too fast.

unfortunately even with a honda sometimes if there is a problem with shifting there is a bigger issue!!!!! a gear tooth may prevent you from shifting and when you force it you loose all your teeth...

This is a clutch pedal adjustment issue. Lengthen the adjuster rod on your pedal and your lockouts will stop. Either that or your clutch is fixing to wear out.
