Talking Vishnu Stage Zero installed

I had the Vishnu Stage Zero kit installed last week at www.vishnutuning.com in Pleasanton, CA. The kit consists of their signature series cat-back exhaust, XEDE engine control unit, and the plug and play harness. I had a chance to see the exhaust before it was installed on the car and I can say it looks very nice. The V-Band clamp and the exhaust hanger’s make for a perfect secure fit, (I think I read in a post someone’s JIC exhaust had fallen off while driving; don’t need to worry about that with this exhaust). I also saw the XEDE and the plug and play harness before the installation and they both appear to be constructed with detail in mind.

When I arrived to pick the car up it was on the dyno with Shiv doing some final tuning. After a couple more dyno pulls Shiv backed it off and took me for a test drive. This was my first time being a passenger in an EVO but, I could definitely feel the power difference from stock to stage zero. On the dyno stock the car was between 197 and 200. With the stage zero kit installed it is now at 230. The car simply pulls strong from 3k until redline. There is no more power drop after 5k like stock. The exhaust note is deep and sounds perfect to me- it’s not too loud and it’s not annoying.

I would recommend this kit to anyone that wants more power and wants quality parts. With so many choices and competitive pricing in the after market industry I was back and forth from what I wanted to do with the car. After attending a dyno day a Vishnu and seeing the staff and parts they have I knew it was the right route for me. I spent over 30,000 on this car and I want only the best parts for it.

I will soon purchase their downpipe and cam gears, which along with the stage zero kit makes their stage one. I will post the dyno results once they are installed.

See this post for dyno, boost and air/ruel ratio charts.

You are right, I ordered the stage 1 a few days ago. But some people like to splice wires and guess what they need to do to make more power. I would take a full computer anyday to the chop and guess. I had a RX-7 and played the guess and tune, blew the motor. With this computer I have a great base map boost control and everything I need to take it to a dyno and tune it with 1 computer not 3.

Did you see how they mounted the XEDE in the car?

It is mounted right behind the glove box. The serial cable is accessible to plug a laptop into it.

I think they are going to post pictures later.

It is a very clean install especially with the harness.

Are any wires spliced at all? If the car had to go in for warranty work could it be disconnected with no problems?

It is hard to tell how big the XEDE box is. Do you need to screw it in or is in small enough to just cable tie or double sided tape it something?

Was your EVO the blue one? I was in Frisco last weekend and I stopped by and they had a blue EVO on the dyno that had the exhaust and EXEDE just installed. Very nice shop and very nice people. When I buy my products it will definitley be from VISHNU!

No wires spliced.

Cost 1675 for the parts as listed on their website.

Double sided tape holds the Xede securly behind the glove box.

0to60n5- That was probably my EVO you saw if it was Thursday or Friday.

You guys are getting me fired up.

I ordered my Standard series Turbo back a few weeks ago(still waiting on it) with the XEDE and cam gears to follow soon.

I cant wait to feel what this car will do when it actually keeps pulling after 5k.

Patiently waiting.

I love the sound of the Vishnu signature exhaust. Very nice, refined. The XEDE makes the Evo power delivery what it should have been from the factory. Very smooth, nice strong pull.

How bout that ride with Shiv? heh. Fun.
