when to turn the mbc down?
Your fuel mix will lean out as the air gets colder and denser. Whether or not you are safe depends on how aggressive your tune was.
I would recommend logging AFRs if you have a wideband, or just turning it down 1psi as the weather gets colder.

Good advice, I have to turn mine down a couple of duty cycles on my AEM to run the same PSI. If I left it the same when it gets below 40 degrees or so I get a really high spike and hit my alarm. Just make sure you are running the same PSI you were tuned at and log it to be sure. I hold 1-2 more PSI when it gets cold, which can be no good!
well....this should be a question for your tuner... ive heard people on this forum say that they get re-tuned for the winter and summer. but all i have to do is send my tuner some logs..or simply ask him i live in jersey so i go from 10 degrees to 100 so...
ok i got my car tuned at ivey i dont know how aggressive he make his tunes but i got 331whp 317wtq with perrin tbe w/hfc, buschur cone filter, agp licp, walbro pump, hallman pro mbc and tune on 93oct! you guys that been tuned by ivey, does he tune aggressively and do you have to turn boost down??

just monitor your peak boost levels with weather changes, i usually turn boost down in cooler temps during the winter, i believe one full turn = roughly 1 psi on the hallman. Ivey's tunes are aggressive but safe at the same time, i would imagine you were tuned between 23-24psi which is also what i set boost at now.

You will see your boost level rise in cold weather. For me I run 23psi and on cold days it might go up 2-3psi so I will turn it back down to 23. If you want to be safe just turn it down a bit in the winter.
(sorry for bumping an old thread but OP is asking the exact question I had and would like to get a bit more input).
The spring inside the hallman MBC is not linear so saying a turn = a number of PSI is not always true. What that said, when I am in range 20-30PSI I see about 2 PSI change for every complete turn of the knob.
