New Q/M record ends in tragedy
RIP bro. For those that have died doing what they love it is no less of a loss to the rest of us. The only consulation is that they did go doing what they loved. Pray for the family and the loved ones they have left behind and for the loss of what they had yet to have contributed to the community as a whole. Many a great person was cut down in there prime when they have so much to contribute to our passions. God speed Gert. God be with the family that has been left behind.

I def got goosebumps reading all this. RIP to him and his family. There is nothing ever good enough to say when someone is lost that is known to so many people. Me not being one but just reading all this made me feel like i knew him.
I followed Gert's project for some time now. The man knew what he was doing with the car, he had on the best parts money could buy. He had on a Ron Shearer header, Shep race tranny, motor built and tuned in the UK then shipped to SA (making over 800 engine HP). Gert really wanted an all round quick street car, not just a drag car. He ran a GT4094R and I'm sure with some seat time it would have dipped into the 9's (IMO). He advised me on a few things for my car, and I did the same for him. Very modest and knowledgable person. My last "conversation" to him centered around how unprepped that track was for his car, and that he should take it easy at first before romping on it. If only the governing body setup the proper safety equipment ...

RIP Gert.

RIP Gert.
